A training program that saves lives...

With road safety at the forefront of discussions, the French Federation of Motorcycle Guides has committed to creating a training program specifically for road users. Here's an overview of this training, which could very well save lives.

A training program created by professionals

Doesn't the SSR (Road Rescuer First Aider) training remind you of the SST (Workplace Rescuer First Aider) training?

Trainers of trainers, some of whom are former volunteer firefighters, wanted to implement a simple and effective training program so that all road users could be trained, similar to the workplace first aid training (SST).

A symbol to recognize one's guardian angels

The name and logo were chosen so that every road rescuer would be easily recognized by those in need. But the logo also serves as a unifying symbol, indicating that the wearer has been trained and is therefore competent to provide assistance.

Please note, however, that the name (SSR - Road Rescuer) and its logo are trademarks registered by the FFGM . Only individuals holding the required training are authorized to use its logo.

Trained and competent motorcycle guides

This training program was rolled out to CEO 77, and the first session took place at the beginning of September this year. Three Guides were trained and evaluated. The training was a success for all three participants.

"It's decided, SSR training will be integrated into the training curriculum for motorcycle guides from the next initial session!" declared the president of the French Federation of Motorcycle Guides.

First aid also has its place during the Guides' monthly maneuvers (just like firefighters, Guides are required to maneuver regularly in order to remain competent) and this measure will be taken from the next maneuvers.

Towards deployment for road users?

Here again, the president of the FFGM was clear. If this training saves lives , then it would be more than worthwhile to extend it to all road users. This measure should be enthusiastically embraced by road users. Indeed, it then appears constructive, whereas some road safety measures can seem punitive.

Yes, but where can I get trained and at what cost?

The price must be minimal so that the training can be provided to as many users as possible. For the time being, trainers will be able to travel, but only to a limited extent. Finally, for those interested and residing in the Île-de-France region, the training center in Trilport (77) will be able to accommodate the first participants.

And you? Do you know how to react in the event of a road accident?
